WASHINGTON, Aug. 31 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — The following was released today by the Coalition of African American Muslims (CAAM):

What:  Press Conference

When: Thursday, September 2, 2010 1:00 pm

Where: National Press Club 529 14th Street NW Washington, DC 20045

Why: The controversy over the Park 51 Project (Islamic Center in Lower Manhattan) is indicative of a general rise in racist bigotry towards people of color in this country. While the issue has its particular and unique distinctions, it cannot be separated from the rising violence against African Americans and Latinos, or the increasingly inflammatory rhetoric and exclusionary politics driving the national debate on immigration.

As African-American Muslims, we feel our unique perspective has been missing from an emerging national discussion. We wish to join that discussion by first of all affirming that among our forbears are Muslims who have lived peacefully and productively in this country since its inception. They, and others among our people have sacrificed too much, both in enduring the horrors and brutalities of chattel slavery, and during the long march to freedom, civil and human rights for us to silently accept a return to Jim Crow exclusionary practices and policies that relegate either ourselves or our co-religionists from other ethnic backgrounds to second-class citizenry.

We commend all of those Jews, Christians and members of other faith and ethnic communities who have raised their voices in defense of the constitutional rights of all Americans. We also laud the work that other Muslim organizations have done in response to the current situation. We add our voice to theirs and will work for a country that reflects the diversity of its people and extends full and equal rights to all.

Ultimately, our success as a nation of diverse people will hinge on our ability to move beyond the limitations that our unique identities sometimes impose on us and claim the loftiest principles rooted in our common humanity.

CAAM  Will:

Work to expose the  underlying foreign and domestic agenda being served by the ongoing  demonization of Muslims;

Be a voice for those who have been  intimidated into silence;

Establish networks between organizations representing those elements of the population, regardless of race or religion, who are suffering as a result of the politics of fear and exclusion.

Wasted Talent

God gave Black people 500 billion talents. He gave Hispanic people 35 billion talents. He gave Asian people 225 billion talents. He left us alone for one year, and then returned to see what we had done with our talents.

God asked the Asian people, “What have you done with your resources”? The Asians replied,

We created many businesses and purchased many franchises.

We used our resources to assist our families and our Asian friends, helping them to get into business as well.

The Asians continued, Lord,

We knew that with 225 billion talents we could generate even more talents by pooling what we had and working together toward a common economic goal.

We have doubled the amount you awarded us.

We now have 550 billion talents.

And to top it all off, our restaurants are going strong; everybody loves our food!

The Lord said, “Well done, my good and faithful servants. I will make you rulers over many things.”

God then asked the Hispanic people what they had done with their inheritance. They gleefully replied, “Lord, You are really going to be proud of us.

Upon receipt of our talents, we went to work right away and formed our own bank. We have one in Florida that ranks among the largest in all the land. And you know what else? The interest we are making, will more than double the amount of talents You gave us.”

As God nodded approvingly, the Hispanic people couldn’t wait to continue.

We opened fast food shops and sidewalk stands.

We sold fruit, enchiladas, and tacos.

We supported Hispanic doctors, lawyers, accountants, and all the Hispanic businesses we could find.

If a certain business did not exist in our community, we pooled our resources and started new ones.

We have done very well, Lord, especially considering the short time we have been in this land.

And God said, “Well done, my good and faithful servants. I will make you rulers over many things.”

Since God had given the most talents to His chosen people – Black people, He couldn’t wait to hear what they had done with their 500 billion talents. Like a doting father, He proudly asked them, “What have you done with your inheritance”?

After turning their music down in order to hear what God was saying, the Black people waved their hands in the air (like they just didn’t care) and shouted, “Lord,

We just threw the party of the century, and it was all good! Look at those bad rides parked outside.

We bought them from the German people and the Japanese people.

Wouldn’t You agree, Lord, that we did good deeds by helping to make them wealthy?”

Even God looked perplexed. He asked if there was anything else the Black people wanted to report. “Oh yeah, You haven’t heard the half of it, Lord. We’re the most charitable people on earth:

We spent 95% of all You gave us with businesses other than our own.

We helped everyone. We didn’t discriminate and we didn’t ‘playa-hate.’” Then one of the Black leaders spoke up. “You know how we like nice clothes, Lord. So, after the party, we went out and bought all of the latest styles with all of the right labels.

You know what I’m saying? We just had to have it; we couldn’t wait. Check us out.”

Now, the Lord was quite concerned about His people, and their attitude regarding their talents…Continuing to probe, and expecting to hear something that would make Himproud, God pleaded, “Surely you have done something with your inheritance to generate more talents for yourselves?”

The Black people looked around at one another, and one of their “leaders”stepped forward to sum things up. Lord we have

The finest cars

We eat and drink only top shelf

We meet in only the most elaborate hotels.

Our children have several pairs of the latest gym shoes

We make the  Baddest videos

And we can throw down — I mean dance — with the best of them.

Even better than that, we have good jobs to earn back our 500 billion talents next year, so we will again be able to help all the other inhabitants of this land.

Sadly, God looked at His people and said, “With what you have done with your talents, you may as well have buried them in the ground. Because of your slothfulness and lack of good stewardship, I will give your future talents to those who have the least. You have gravely disappointed me by not adhering to one of my most important admonishments: To whom much is given, much is expected.

How NOW is now? What is Now?

Dr. Dheena Sadik Ameen

We often hear the trendy cliche “Live in the Now, don’t worry about the past or the future”. As much as I agree with the gist of the subject, let us consider the foundation and ramifications upon which the iceberg of Now exists.

Now is the legendary bond linking two uncontrollable Universal Paradigms our past and our future. Not only is this momentous bridge embedded deeper and wider between yesterday and tomorrow but now also connects us literally, biologically, spiritually, memorably and equatically through many realms with all of existence embracing our ancestors and unborn generations of the future.

The degree to which now is irreplaceably crucial is analogous to the interesting Butterfly Effect theory, which states that the flapping movements of a butterfly’s wings have severe repercussions on wind strength and eventually throughout the weather system of the globe and potentially alter the path of tornadoes halfway around the world.

The flapping wing represents a small change at any given moment, which consequentially causes a chain of events leading to large-scale alterations and variations in reality. Hence, every single one of your intentions transforming either into silent contemplation, deep thoughts, various words and/or diverse actions undoubtedly have their own consequential butterfly effects upon our lives.

Indeed, our Immortal Spiritual component undoubtedly surpasses time and space.Nonetheless, our common epoch here on Earth is to dive through the Physical Human Experience channel via the tender arms of our dear Mother Earth. Individually, either fully or partially consciously or unconsciously each soul chooses the velocities and directions of our unique odysseys.

Simultaneously, we amalgamate to impact the evolution of our Universe towards multiple higher dimensions.In this manner, myriad effects proceeded as cascades of events from our ancestors of the intangible mysterious past arrived here and now and will overflow to reach our unpredictable generations of our future.

Hence, every individual and every entity, animate and inanimate are intricately inter-connected momentarily to one another in unison, beyond our bounded comprehension. When we transcend deep enough to simplify our diverse variables, which manifest as our differences, by the common denominator of the similarities of our Universal Oneness.

We would undoubtedly be blessed with beautiful conscious gardens and tranquil oceans of aquatic cells holding hands and hearts in coordination with Unconditional Love as siblings of one peaceful family.

I’ll be back on the air in the fall but I figured this was a resource that I had to share. This is great for Ramadan since we don’t want to miss the first prayer before sunrise but also we don’t want to wake up late & miss the last chance to drink before the sun comes up. Believe me it’s kinda rough & dangerous to go a very long time without some water in your system. Enjoy. Salaam (Peace)

Cure for Insomnia – Deep Regenerating, Rejuvenating, Restorative Sleep

During the month of Ramadan I’m starting to notice a lot about how life works. Especially all the ways my body lets me know I need to drink water or not eat so much or to get some rest. Of course when you’re a parent, spouse, employee, entrepreneur who’s got time for stuff like that.

I know that I need to get up at 4:30am at least to get started. But I rarely ever get to bed before 12:30am. So what do I do to make sure that I fall asleep as quickly as possible and when I do sleep its Rejuvenating, Restorative and Regenerative?

I recite this:

In the name of Allåh, the Beneficent,
the Merciful.
1 Say: He, Allåh, is One.
2 Allåh is He on Whom all depend.
3 He begets not, nor is He begotten;
4 And none is like Him.

In the name of Allåh, the Beneficent,
the Merciful.
1 Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of
the dawn,a
2 From the evil of that which He
has created,
3 And from the evil of intense
darkness,a when it comes,
4 And from the evil of those who cast
(evil suggestions) in firm resolutions,a
5 And from the evil of the envier
when he envies.

In the name of Allåh, the Beneficent,
the Merciful.
1 Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of
men,
2 The King of men,
3 The God of men,
4 From the evil of the whisperings of
the slinking (devil),
5 Who whispers into the hearts of
men,
6 From among the jinn and the men.

Then I say a prayer where I specifically ask to fall into a deep Rejuvenating, Restorative Regenerative sleep and wake up at (specific Time) so I can do what I have to do.

Then I set my alarm clock lay my head on my pillow & gradually let all the thought processes just fade away.

Works Like A Charm. Thanks & Praise to the most High One.

If you are a consumer, more and more you’ll find it makes sense to start making purchases and doing business using your Blackberry, Iphone, Android or smartphone. And you are not hardly alone.

There are an estimated 1.8 billion people who are accessing the internet while there are over 5 billion people around the planet who use a cell phone. 51 million of those are smart phones. More and more information, products and services are being bought and sold via mobile technology.

What does this trend mean to you? It means there is a more effective way to target and reach an audience now. Building your list or growing your community is easier when you meet the people where they are. And it means that soon you will see more and mobile advertising on your cell phone.

You could be seeing other people’s ads. Or other people could be seeing yours. What’s it gonna be?

Do you remember those kids back in grade school that were class clowns or had the best yo’ momma jokes?

They usually demonstrated how studious and attentive they could be after a parent teacher meeting. Somehow a “conference” at home was always sufficient to get them to straighten up and fly right. At least for a little while anyway.

But it wasn’t long before the scene would get a little mundane & I had to do something to amuse myself. Now in my ‘grown up days’ amusing myself entails taking a well deserved nap when I can, learning something new & interesting ( not doing it just learning about it), and socializing on Twitter or Facebook when I should be focused on the art & discipline of producing extraordinary results.

I Have A Confession To Make.

I was one of those kids. I wasn’t one of the ‘bad’ kids but I wasn’t necessarily the teacher’s pet. I’m not ashamed of it either. I always had a reminder of exactly when I was off my mark and exactly how well I could do with sufficient motivation. Knowing all about yourself is a good thing. And thinking back to those days reminds me of what motivates me to do my best.

Today I had the biggest epiphany of my life.

I realized to day that “When The Stakes Are High Enough I Can BE Unstoppable.” – HighRoadism Typically if I haven’t advertised any new blog posts coming up there probably won’t be any new ones coming up. If I don’t say I’ve got a new product coming for you this month there probably won’t be a new one. If I don’t publicly declare that I’m working on a project then I probably won’t produce extraordinary results by the end of the month.

The reason I don’t do what I know I should do is because either its too easy not to OR there isn’t a sufficient penalty for not doing it.

This could lead to something big. It certainly feels like a turning point to me.

Do you know what motivates you to get the job done? If you’re not hitting your targets what can you do to up the ante & evoke the best in you?

I’ve always been the quiet observant type. I got into my fair share of trouble but I wasn’t one to go out with a bang and make a lot of noise about it. I just go through what life brings and look back for the lesson. In my quest to master the game of life I think there are 5 areas that are the most critical and make for the most interesting ride. Here are some lessons I’ve learned along the way.

Mastery of Sexual Energy- This is by far the most fun. Actually this is the most enlightening as well. Whether you’re celibate or have a happy & healthily active sex life, understanding the principles of masculinity and femininity and how the two energies properly work together can either be a major impediment or a gateway to higher states of being. I suggest that you check out Shantam Nityama and his “partner” Miss Sasha Cobra. After you finish reading here of course.

Mastery of My Money Life – Of all the changes you are going to go through in life stability in your money life is the foundation you’ll need to calmly navigate through any circumstance. Leaving your finance to chance will sure enough be a nuisance.(HighRoadism) Hire a bookkeeper, work with an accountant or learn how to do it yourself. Don’t wait to get your personal economy in order.

Mastery of My Eating Habits – 90% of the health problems that are plaguing society are rooted in our eating habits. We are digging our graves with our teeth. Eating the right foods at the right times and in the right combination is strictly a matter of discipline. The book that brought this home for me was How To Eat To Live bu Elijah Muhammad. At times I struggle with it. But when I determine that I am more powerful than a bowl of cereal or cup of ice cream late at night, that small victory proves that I can BE unstoppable and I can do ANYTHING I set my mind to. On to bigger and better things.

Mastery Of My Physical Fitness – Have you ever seen Bruce Lee demonstrate what a human being is capable of?
Or listened to some of the stories of 70 years old men and women who compete in and finish the Ironman Triathalon. Very inspiring. Its amazing what you can just will your body to do. Coupling that with the idea that a fine tuned mind loves to travel in a fine tuned body gives me the desire to get up from in front of the computer and get active. Not trying to become a body builder or anything but I want to be able to carry the laundry up and down the stairs with out getting out of breath.

Mastery Of My Own Mind – How many times do you tell your self what you are going to do only to get caught up and distracted by every and any little thing. Getting off track is one of my biggest challenges. But Its also one of the most rewarding to overcome. Like sitting down to write a blog post that will inspire the people who read it and actually completing it. Or traveling across town and NOT staring at every short skirt or low-cut blouse that comes into my field of view. Being in control of my own mind and what ideas I will or will not dwell on is high on my list of goals.

So are you up for a challenge?

Masculinity has nothing to do with how much sex you have and how many things you can get. It has everything to do with Mastering self and reflecting the original intention of the Creator. HighRoadism

Femininity has more to do with wisdom and the ability to use intuition to create and empower than any hairstyle, high heel or revealing outfit ever will. HighRoadism

I’ve been putting plenty of thought in lately on the difference between male and female. Not the obvious difference of course. I’m talking about what makes us tick and why there are so many problems between men and women.

I’ve been learning a series of lessons over the last few months that opened my eyes my mind and my heart to a new way of seeing, being and doing. As far back as recorded history goes the energy between men and women has been distorted and misused. This led me to an epiphany yesterday that I just had to share.

Now men abuse women and women abuse men. We make life so much more difficult for our own selves and each other than it needs to be and most human interaction is filled with static. Here is where the epiphany came in.

When both men and women redefine and reorient ourselves with the masculine and feminine principles in every aspect of life we can solve every problem through our ability to manifest any possibility we can imagine. HighRoadism

What can men do to honor, respect and cultivate Feminine energy?

What can women do to honor, respect and cultivate Masculine energy?

You are finally online or thinking about it, and you see that you need to write posts, write articles, write products, write, write, write. Your moment of courage suddenly has created weak knees and fear. Internet Marketing does need writing, but you can work around it and even better conquer your Internet marketing writing blocks. Here are some writing blocks and some solutions.

My English teachers marked my papers red.

Put your grammar and punctuation fears to rest. Readers want you to have a good grasp of grammar, punctuation and of course the English language, but they do not expect perfect. They care about the material.

What do I know?

When you were in second grade you knew more than a first grader. With any niche you know more than someone who just came into it.

I am not a writer.

You only need 250 words for most article sites. You can have less than that for your blog. You can create videos, but 250 words is not much. With five short paragraphs you can get close.

How can I possibly write five paragraphs?

Start with an introductory paragraph, tell your readers what you are going to cover. Use the next three to explain in greater detail. Answer the Who, what, when, where, why and how that people may ask about what you are covering. Then write a conclusion to summarize it.

I don’t know what to write.

Think when you started in your niche, write what you wish you had known. Write about what problems you have had and how you conquered them. Answer questions people have about your niche. Remember people have different points of view or slightly different problems and try to cover those. Discuss advantages, disadvantages and comparisons.

But I do not write like…

Be yourself, do not copy the writings of another blogger or article author, that is called plagiarism. Do not steal images others use. Do not copy the voice of another. You may feel your unique voice is not worthy, but the reason there are so many soda choices is because people have different things they like. Your unique voice will be right for the right people.

How do I fit in time to write?

Spend 30 minutes each day. Alternatively you can spend 3 hours one day writing. You just need a little time. Write one post a week, one article, one page of a report each week. At the end of a year you will have 52 blog posts, 52 articles and at least five reports. Imagine how that would feel!

~~~~~~~~~
Are you wondering how to get started online? Or need a  little how to help?
You can find friendly, easy step by  step guides and  videos here.
